Welcome to the City of Raleigh's Street Name History project page!

City of Raleigh Street Name History

This project is meant to provide an online oral history for the origin of street names within the City of Raleigh. Many streets reference geography or people, but sometimes the references aren't so obvious. The purpose of this project is to provide local citizens with the opportunity to share their knowledge and contribute to our local history.

This wiki-based effort is open to the public and can be easily edited within your browser window. If you are not comfortable with making edits or wish to provide comments the old-fashioned way, you may submit your comments by email or standard mail at the addresses below.
